Golly gosh, an all British partnership!

Now I know that pro tennis is very much an international game and no doubt most partnerships are mixed nationalities.

But looking through all this week's tournament threads I make it that this is the only men's or women's all British partnership ( Oliver Crawford & David Stevenson were due to be partners in Guangzhou but withdrew ).

Meanwhile I make it that this week there are 29 instances of a Brit partnering another nationality ( 15 men and 14 women ).

Plenty tournaments with a number of GB players players competing and 2 or 3 in doubles, with the absolute being the normal huge men's squad in Tunisia and 5 in doubles, none of whom are partnering each other.

Now while as I said absolutely fair enough and understandable that the majority of partnership are mixed nationalities. But still in the various draws I see loads this week that are from the same nation yet the Brits seem to be actively avoiding each other. Very strange.

It has now!  wink  I must have been typing as you were posting, Indy!  The number of Brits involved meant that it took a while.  For the record, how may of the Brit+pesky partnerships this week are at tournaments where the Brit happens to be ploughing a lone furrow?
