A broken wrist isn't going to stop Dan's mouth from working, in fact the only thing stopping Dan from voicing an opinion would be losing his tongue and that might even be up for debate (I love Dan so not a dig but an observation)

A debut DC victory for young Arthur:

R2:  Arthur Féry WR 227 defeated Olaf Pieczkowski (POL) WR 484 by 4 & 2  smile

POL 0 GBR 2

As a matter of interest, does anyone know why Hurkacz & Majchrzak aren't playing for Poland?

Both injured I read that Majchrzak got injured at the US Open maybe a knee,  cant remember Huekacz

Fery was very composed. I noticed checking his bio, he's 1.75m, same as Evans but his two handed BH much more a weapon.

Majchrzak had a torn intercostal muscle at the USO, retired round 3; Hurkacz had knee surgery around Wimbledon and has been out for a while with that injury prior to surgery.

That was simply sublime from Arthur tonight maybe barring the middle part of both sets.

This is the first time I've seen Arthur Fery play bit from what I saw tonight, the future is certainly very bright. My prediction of Top 200 is looking very good if this is the level he produces week in week out .

It's just a pity there's no longer ranking points awarded for Davis Cup wins because that win deserves ranking points imho.

Surely now that is job done now because the doubles players will go in as favourites tomorrow and of they don't win then Norrie should have no trouble against Olaf imho.

Fair comment! And I also like Evo! I guess most of us do!

Is it actually confirmed that he broke his wrist?

I was half-joking when I said he'd better get himself down to xray pretty sharpish as it really looked like he might have broken it

But it's true?

Chinese whispers?

Though I do read that at the time in a bit more than a whisper Dan diagnosed that it was "broke".

A decent write-up for Arthur's performance in the Beeb's report on the first day's play.
