I know it wasn't intentional or meant in a nasty way hence why I didn't reply/react to it but I was kind of taken back with the banter I took for mentioning Hussey originally .

But it does seem that Leon does like to reward excellent form with call ups and, imho Arthur Greg is 100% deserving of his call up . Very soon he's going to overtake both Johannus Monday and Jack Pinnington -Jones in the rankings and make a serious push for the Top 200 (this night already have happened as he won in Cassis earlier).

Now, I'm going to defend myself in here regarding Billy Harris by saying that his poor run of form was the reason I had him omitted, I just felt it was fair to reward excellent form. Now I'll probably get more stuck for that and questioned why I picked Jake who has also been struggling for form and I totally get that but I just feel we have to persevere with him despite this. I actually didn't know at the time that both Hubi AND Kamil would be omitted, so now Jake's poor run isn't as much a concern as it would have been.

Looking at both team nominations, this is a must won otherwise serious questions will need asked of Leon Smith unfortunately!!

apologies as I was one who queried the Hussey suggestion! But I didnt expect the Fery idea and like it.

The Polish players are all ranked 400/500ish - we really should see this home and maybe Arthur will get a run out? And we shouldnt worry if he does!

heh, even Billy or Giles should have done ok in this match!

Tbf Jon, a few of us queried the Hussey suggestion. And while thanks go to TS for starting the thread and for their thoughts, I make no apologies for my own querying or how I did it. It made no sense to me at all on this occasion.

Anyways, we have the squad now, and it seems ( I must admit to not following the Poles' comings and goings ) we should most certainly be winning.

Oh I wasnt apologising for querying the suggestion, I was apologising that TS was taken aback.
Anyway, all good - and maybe chance for GB to get a little spring in their collective steps into the autumn tournies.

Wow, didn't see Fery coming I must admit. Very pleased about the dubs pair getting their shot after some months of excellent form.

Is there maybe a tactical element to this.  I may be wrong in this but isnt Fery capable of playing for France, and isnt there some rule about if you play Davis Cup for one country you cant play for another??  So he is having a good run, so put him in the team, play him in a dead rubber and he is GB for the future and less likely to go to France??

Conspiracy theories ... Apologies if Im wrong with the above reasoning!

Love a good consipracy theory, but Arthur would currently be ranked No. 30 in France, so think Britain is safe whether he plays or not.

What depth France has, what a tennis playing nation.

Yet they can't get Slam champions or even real contenders, and haven't for a long time. Nowhere near. It's most amusing. I mean sad, very sad
