Weeks 35 & 36 - US Open - Flushing Meadows, New York, NY, USA (hard) - DOUBLES

Joe and Neal versus the 9th seeds will be a hard one to call - I mean, they are all hard to call this event, but I wouldn't feel at all confident in this one for our guys.

Marcus and Karol (sorry if that is wrong, I havent really clocked the guys name yet!!) against Arevalo and Pavic, most likely - again, don't feel that will give us much.

Luckily a rest day today for the British pairs - but tomorrow could end up being the end of things

Given SC has been calling him Karol all the time I'd have been pretty confident that was his name. Anyway it can be double-checked elsewhere ( and it's right ) as quick as saying "sorry if that is wrong etc". Sometimes ...

Be good if Arevalo & Pavic would suffer an upset loss in their R2.

Wow, Arevalo & Pavic serve for the match at *5-4 in the 3rd but lose 5-7 to Machac and his lowly ranked doubles specialist partner Vocel who needed his much higher ranked compatriot to get into the draw.

After a very tough first couple of rounds that's a break for Marcus & Karol who play the Czech pair next.

Just seen this - top 3 seeded pairs out before the end of round 2. That must be a first!

and it feels like an event now where all bets are off and anyone can beat anyone.

Very good for Marcus+ in theory in that Arevalo & Pavic near their best would be far too good. Very strange doubles tournament.

Good for Lloyd and Julian too in respect of they will definitely remain WR 1 & 2 even with exiting in R1 here.

Bolelli and Vavassori also departed, Just 3 of the top 8 seeds (4,5, 6) left in the last 16, one of which is Joe and Neal.

Hard to know what to make of the draw or the chances of Joe and Neal, and Marcus and Karol. But they are in it and you have to be in it, to win it - right?

Marcus and Karol are second on court at approx 2010 hrs BST estimated and Joe and Neal first on their court but that is a 2100 hrs BST start

I think whatever site you are using is not including the junior matches. Marcus is 4th on his court (still 2 matches to go so will be a while) and Joe & Neal were 3rd and but will start at the their not before 9pm start time as the other matches are already over.

Ah, it was TNNS app. They list the juniors under a separate schedule. Thanks
