Most amazingly tense TB - following a tense second set

What a fighter Fran is

Fran was down for much of that set, got it back, was 2-6 down in the TB, I think it was, then played some outstanding tennis - ripper forehands

Lots of muffed shots on MPs

The Georgian girl was absolutely leathering the ball too

And finally, finally, Fran gets it - and the two women are hugging and slapping hands

It's a shame when players who know they are not going to play, don't pull out before the start of qualifying. Just one more and Ryan Peniston would have got in.

Fran ought to be looking to beat the winner of Hartono/Gadecki. I know it's hard not clay but she's good enough.

Yep, I think the PR should be considered used if the withdrawal happens after qualifying starts.
