Great set of 1st round results - did any of us really expect 3 out of 4 Brits to make it through, and even Heather only just went out. A big well done to Fran, Harriet and Jodie, and commiserations to Heather. Looking forward to Round 2 - some very winnable matches for the Brits, I think.

 As was pointed out on the tennis forum Harriet has won all  four   10 point tie breaks she has played at Grand Slam main and qualifying draws. The others were against Katie at Wimbledon last year and against Fett in  the 2025 Australian Open and Doi in the 2020 Australian Open. The later 2 matches were first round main draw  wins.

Both seeds in Harriet's section gone in the 1st round. Any other year I'd bet on her to come through but this year has been so awful and her head is in such a bad place, I'm not sure. Fingers crossed this can be a turning point. (I actually wasn't sure she'd show this year tbh)

I'm actually quite surprised that Heather lost (though perhaps shouldn't be given where she has been over the past 2-3 years). Gorgodze is a very pedestrian player and really someone that none of our top women should be losing to.

Thought she was actually playing well other that the first serve which is at 29% Her opponent is at 85%
