Thats a blow for Luca, dang - lets see how close the lads can run Neal and Joe, maybe a banana skin for Neal and Joe?

 I'd suggest not.

Well it almost was - Joe and Neal won but it was 10-8 in the match tie break. Id say the lads ran them pretty close!

No idea why Joe and Neal are playing this week. If they win it, it will make no difference to their rankings and they must be exhausted (as that score shows).

I'm a little surprised too that they are such an exception among the leading players in playing here.

But while admittedly hardly huge, tbf it is potentially plus 250 points to Joe and plus 160 points to Neal. It happens to be that that would make no difference to their particuiar ranking positions in the very short term of this week. And in doubles I'm not sure even their recent success will have been hugely exhausting.

To also tbf to Jon, fair dos, I didn't expect anything like such a close match. It must be because they were exhausted

For Neal and Joe, there last titles were a long time back, Neal June 24 and Joe January 24.

We shouldnt underestimate the importance of this week after getting close in Toronto and Cinci

As I indicated I'm not as such against them being here ( not really buying the 'exhausted' theory ) but I would be very surprised if they were a pair that needed the psychology of a titie, with all they have won and recently getting close in these much bigger events.

The singles semis was also a walkover - so fans paid good money and got zero tennis in this session. Thats a bit rubbish. A lot rubbish.

Yes, really unlucky. But there is always a risk being a spectator the week before a Slam.

Imagine taking a day off to watch some semis action and you get nothing. Not even your money back would make you happy with that.

I mean it happens. But, nonetheless.
