Week 33 - W35 Aldershot, Great Britain - Hard

I thought she was really unlucky

There was some insane defending from Marie on those important points at the end of the tb

Jaqui had her on a piece of string on one of them, and couldn't believe that the ball kept coming back

But, hey, that's pro tennis

Yes she didn't do much wrong really.

Has let a 4-2* lead in the third slip though, and missed a point for *5-4

*4-5

Body language isn't great - disappointed after putting in *so* much effort. But hang in there Jaqui. You can still do this.

Yes, it's so dreadfully, dreadfully close

But, as you say, she looks just a touch resigned - as though it's heartbreak waiting to happen

Poor girl

It really is heartbreaking (well, maybe not in terms of global problems but .... )

Well done to Marie who ran like a blinkin' rabbit in that tiebreak and didn't give up

Hard to really point the finger but Marie looked just a touch more fit at the end - Jaqui was running round her backhand, as she did well earlier on, without clocking that you need really good footwork to do that, and after three hours or so, your footwork isn't going to be quite so good, and you really should just take the backhand because she made a lot of faults running round it

And I don't get my third extra GB victory

Although she had a MP !!!!

So, I feel the pick was fine

But tomorrow's another day - only one more needed #fingerscrossed

Nice win for Millie over W35 Roehampton II winner, Alicia Dudeney

She seemed to injure/tweak her left thigh in the first set

But it seemingly didn't stop her playing well

And Vic ended up losing the second 6-3, even though she was a break up early on, I believe

So it's over to Hannah now to make my numbers - hopefuly that should be OK smile

First set done, 6-2

(Unless Sophie B would also like to come and join? biggrin)
