Hmm, a kind of pretty conclusive 3 set win if you can have such a thing.

Still at least Arthur is showing general real progression of late.

As per earlier, it will still leave him outside of the top 300 for now.

Just awful. So many unforced errors and poor shot selection. Doesn't look at it at all.

Just seen the score - ouch, 1 and 4.

US Open first round loser gets $110k. Add to that $20k or so at each of Canada and here, Jake could pocket $160k over these few weeks without actually doing anything of note. he is in Winston Salem as well, but he could probably use the match play there.

Oh dear. Think Jake and Katie should put their heads together and come up with a strategy to start winning again!

So that's three doubles specialists versus singles players which I like. And singles players who can play good doubles.

Tough draw for Lloyd & Julian this time - potentially Ebden/Thompson in R2, who were the last pair to beat them. But I dont think an early loss here would be a bad thing; they've played a hell of a lot of tennis recently and a good rest before the US might reduce some of the expectation and give them a chance to freshen up.

Cam had to change his shirt mid game as he was so uncomfortable.

Already changed from that one to another and his mind is not fully on his tennis.

It is hot.
