They must have heard you Peter - the WTA has the singles draw now.

Love how you've put winner could meet Leylah Fernandez in R4, glossing slightly over the fact that they'd have to have beaten Sabalenka in R3.

Raducanu should beat whoever she faces in round 2, however Sabalenka in R3 is an unfortunate roadblock.

Kartal probably has a higher chance of reaching round 4 with her draw.

Obviously we know that Emma can play on hard, but how's Sonay on it?

Well shes won. WTA 250 event on hard so should be ok.

Thanks, that's good to know. I must admit to being more of a Sonay than an Emma fan at the moment.

I see from the draw that if Katie B wins her first match, she would face Emma in the second round. I know that her form is pretty underwhelming right now, but that would be a very interesting match and the winner, of course, would be likely to meet Sabalenka.

Re the comments on the WTA site - if anyone has attempted to use the WTA site to look at rankings and then from the world rankings, move to the UK ones, right now on the WTA site, it does not let you actually do that. I used to look on it about once a week, but now when you tick the region bit and scroll down to try to get to the UK, to alter the rankings to include only British players, now it does not let you take that step - very annoying for anyone who just wants to take a quick look and see how the Brits are doing and then maybe click on a player they are seeing is doing unexpectedly well or badly and glance at their results. The WTA media side seems to have gone backwards - they used to have a really good media yearbook and now they don't, and the website has got progressively worse. It's probably due to have really poor quality media people involved or no funding for it. Anyway, dire and not good enough.

Sorry Andy, but I disagree about the website. You must be missing a step when doing the filter. It works fine for me, and I use it several times a week. It's still a poor website in many ways though !

Katie has lost the first 5 games.

I'd still say that she is playing better than she did in Canada.

Might be lucky - spots of rain.

Probably just as well there is a rain break - Katie needs the reset button.

Katie playing like she has weights strapped around her ankles. If there is a lingering foot injury, surely it would be best to just stop and rehab rather than lose so convincingly again and again?

I just looked again and when I call up the rankings, it brings up the world ones, then I press filter to get to the GB bit,  a box comes up (as in an extra screen) and when I attempt to remove the tick for the world, nothing happens and it also does not allow me to scroll down to get to the UK bit and click on that, as there doesn't seem to be any bit at the side to let me scroll down. I'll have to show this to my other half when she and I get a night together - I know I am a bit technophobic, but it genuinely hasn't worked for me for months. I am using a laptop, so maybe that is making a difference. Anyway, I'm making this thread go off track, so apologies for that.

Doesn't look good for Katie -hope the rain break helps.

You don't remove the tick, just click on UK. And the scroll bar is very narrow - I often scroll the wheel on my mouse instead.

Yes, similar on my phone. You can't remove the tick for All but UK overrides it. No doubt much easier to scroll down on a phone.

It must be a problem on my laptop then - there is no line to scroll down, so no way of doing it. My other half is very good with technology - I'll get her to have a look. And back to the tennis - Katie is now a break up in the second - the rain break looks to have helped.

Katie served for the 2nd set at 5-4 didnt make one 1st serve. Go to New York, cash the cheque and then stop and sort yourself out.
