The main draw is now out. I will tidy it up later

R1: Olga Danilovic (SRB) WR 40 (CH 32 last month) Vs Katie Boulter WR 43 (CH 23 in Nov 2024 )
R1: BYE Vs (30) Emma Raducanu WR 30 (CH 10 in 2022)

R1: Sonay Kartal WR 48 (CH 44 last month) Vs (WC) Caroline Garcia (FRA) WR 199 (CH 4 in 2018)

Winner of the top match meets Emma in the next round. Emma could meet Leylah in R4.

Edited to add Sonay, thanks Gameover.

Love how you've put winner could meet Leylah Fernandez in R4, glossing slightly over the fact that they'd have to have beaten Sabalenka in R3.

Raducanu should beat whoever she faces in round 2, however Sabalenka in R3 is an unfortunate roadblock.

Kartal probably has a higher chance of reaching round 4 with her draw.

Obviously we know that Emma can play on hard, but how's Sonay on it?

Well it's all Emma Vs Leylah this and that isn't it? There was just a bunch of that commentary last week.

Now that Emma is playing at a high level and seems to be able to keep her body in check, the chance they'll meet again is going up.

Ironically, playing in tournaments like these 1000s is probably perfect for Emma. Rest days between games and only expected to win two or three rounds before getting a five or six day break, seems ideal for her, especially as it will also give her time to work on ideas with her new coach.

Interesting to read the comments. The WTA and the official tournament site still haven't published the draw so I'll wait to see how it turns out.

There is no 1st Round draw on the WTA site, not the Cincinnati tournament website, I find this very strange no  I cannot imagine any other sport where a cup draw is made and those promoting the event, do not get around to publishing details for 24 hours or so.  Am I missing something....I find it quite extraordinary

Thanks Jon, I had found the draw, my point was though I should be able to receive it from the main sites websites or Twitter feed fairly promptly.  They are after all "promoting" the event?

They seem to have got round the Osaka Mboko problem by putting them both in the draw versus a Bye/Qualifier/LL.

Yes, I found the draw as well via TNNS - and it is the official WTA sheet - so why can't the WTA publish it themselves !

I think lack of drawsheet on tournament website is even less impressive. Thank you Tennis Forum posters for keeping me up to date.

The WTA site is for pretty pictures not for useful things like draws (qualifying and main).

Just be careful when getting the draws from other websites - there was a fake draw for Washington before the draw had actually taken place. TNNS can be trusted though and usually have a link to the official PDF's

It was the r/tennis Reddit and they are trustworthy. I also looked at the comments under the draw post to see if there was anything weird or suspicious.

Katie Boulter v Olga Danilovic is 3rd on court 3 after a 4pm start (UK time) so the match should be sometime after 7pm. There is still no draw on the WTA site. Is this some daft new policy from the WTA to release the next day's order of play but no draw?
