Katie wins 6-3 6-1

Watched the last couple of games. Katie was moving well and hit a few winners on the run. Bodes well.

 Me too, MP was lovely.

I think that match is scheduled for later today.

Hope Katie can cope with two matches in a day.

Yes, the ITF site says not before 16:00. But there are two matches in between, and the first one has already lasted two and a half hours so she's getting a fair bit of recovery time.

I'm watching Katie now on the ITF live stream - Arconada is playing well and this looks like a tough one for Katie - 4-2 at the moment to Arconada. I can't believe how close the next court is to their match - 4 feet maybe or 6 at absolute max. Even by ITF standards, this must be pretty distracting for them.

Not sure if the mens and womens are on next door courts, but the mens is a challenger as well!

The match started around midnight however, the livestream wasn't working. Finally started working and I can immediately see Katie's not in a good way physically. Flexing hamstrings lots, and she looks tight executing just about any type of shot. Loses the first set 6-2

I'd say the courts are actually at least 9 feet apart, i.e. twice the tramlines width or the tramlines are the wrong size and the ball boys are midgets

Still pretty close but not absolutely ridiculous.

Anyway, Katie has lost the first set by 6-2.

Medical time out for Katie - ugh! The match next door is definitely a women's - I can see the skirts. And yes - perhaps it is a bigger distance from Katie's court than I thought - I guess with the bad weather yesterday that they may be using more courts than normal to catch up?

Katie's playing with a little bit more freedom now and again, and breaks for 2-1

Three breaks in three games in the second set - Katie 2-1 up. It has been pretty close so far - I really hate it when players have to play two singles matches in a day though; it just feels wrong and means if the first one is close, that the player will never be anywhere near their best for the second one.

This is only close because of Katie's lack of freedom in lower back though. If it frees up enough she will come back

Trouble is this is Tuesday and they are still in qualifying. I guess the weather is really to blame.

It happens, a kind of occupational hazard that planned scheduies change and you might have to play and cope with 2 matches in a day. Though yes, no doubt far from what Katie would want at this stage in her comeback.

Note - I am assuming it's purely the weather on at least yesterday that has caused this. I am certainly not in favour of planning for some players playing twice in one day as appears to have been the case elsewhere this week.
