According to live-tennis.eu Emma is now just 7 points behind Katie and 54 above Sonay. Although the live rankings include last year's Washington tournament which must have been a week later.
Unless she gets injured Emma will be well clear in a very short time.

The whole US season is a week earlier relative to Wimbledon this year. I think Washington was against Paris Olympics last year, werent Katie et al over there, so presumably not defending points from that week of the calendar?

Just really pre Canada and the start of Canada are a week earlier, then Canada and Cincinnatti are this year being played over a 3 week period rather than a week for each. Cincinnatti then effectively ends at the same time as last year with again a week's gap to the US Open which is at the same time as last year.
The week later Washington was indeed the same week as the Olympics last year.
Emma plays twice on Thursday. After an 16.00 start (UK time) her singles is on 2nd not before 18.00. Her doubles is 4th on Grandstand so at around 22.00.
With Venus beating the world 35, do we know if she is aiming at getting a wild card for the US Open? Based on that one match shes playing at effectively seeding level, although they obviously wouldnt seed her.
