L16:- Tereza Mihalikova (SVK) / Olivia Nicholls (GBR) CR57 (30+27) [4] v Emma Raducanu (GBR) / Elena Rybakina (KAZ) CR1122 (561+561 but singles 45+13)

 Like that!

Not one bit ! Horrible draw for Liv and Tereza as a seeded pair.

I meant I like it - makes life interesting!

I didnt have time to post fully before; long day. I know many folks hate Brit v Brit matches and I get why. I, however, tend to find them intriguing, I like the local rivalry aspect and , in this case, a top 10 pairing taking on two top singles players, which include two former grand slam singles champs, is fascinating. In an ideal world, they wouldnt meet, but this is pro sport and youve got to play whoever comes into your draw.

Then you'll like Billy vs Cam in the mens draw!

Katie plays very late Monday night or early Tuesday morning. Emma plays sometime on Tuesday.

This is such a brilliant event. Both courts absolutely rammed for late afternoon doubles (helped by the tournament getting some interesting wildcard pairings to agree to play). But still - Kyrgios/Monfils Vs Nys/Roger-Vasselin being standing room only is pretty crazy even if it's understandable the place is packed for Venus on the main court.

Olivia vs Emma doubles about to start.

Venus and partner won pretty comfortably.

Catch the look on Liv's face - serious business today. Tereza to serve for the first set.

I was literally about to say the same thing, has a steely look in her eye.

I haven't checked the rankings, but I would think they need a good result here to get the #8 seeding at the USO

They still have Cincy and Montreal to accumulate points. If you look at the Toronto list they are 21 ranking places off the 8th seeds so a fair gap.

Yes, I was just looking at the pairs that played Wimbledon. They are a long way from 8th at the moment. I'll look at the lists for the next weeks and see what the points look like.

Actually it's only 8 places off 8th spot in Montreal as Krejickova is in on a SR.

Siniakova/Townsend aren't there though. Or Ostapenko/Su-Wei.

Katie already a break down. Her game looks like it's lost a lot of pop - guess a confidence thing.

*0-3

Katie 3-6 *0-0

Spent most of the set being bullied off the court, and when she was able to assert herself sprayed a bunch of errors. Game not in a good place.

Radukina win the MTB 11-9, but it wasn't really as close as that. They made a mess closing out at *9-5.
