Week 30 - ATP Challenger 75 - Open Castilla y León Villa de el Espinar - Segovia, Spain (hard)

Cracking win for George.

Saw the game where he broke. Hit two huge forehands winners for z30-40 and then to break. Huge power.

Great win for JoMo. Was a set and a break down and was a break down in decider.

JoMo and Oli are the only seeds left in this draw.

I only switched on at about 3-3 in the third - I missed all the drama biggrin

Well done to Jo.

First time Ive seen him play. Didnt realise he was so tall.

Oliver, Jo and George have potential banana skins next.

Oliver live ranked 226, JoMo ( with just 2 points less) live ranked 232.

George live ranked 290 ( but the title would take him up into the 230s ).

And Arthur F could actually climb above George this week with a title as well.

Yes, we could have 13 in the top 250 on Monday

OK, it would need Arthur and George to convert QFs into titles, but hey ...

Trying to keep my excitement at bay but it's great to see several good performances this week. Hope more than one convert .. I'm particularly interested in George who I hadn't seen before. when I watched him he was blowing hot and cold - lack lustre wayward careless shots, followed by thumping, accurate devastating shots. More of the latter please George

Jodar is last year's US Open junior champion, putting some nice wins together at challenger level.

I've heard that sort of great talent, can go AWOL, description of George before. Who's his coach? Sounds like George could make big strides forward if he could be cajoled into much better focus.
