I've watched the two minute highlights of Moutet v. Muller on the ATP site. It isn't easy to glean too much information from such a short selection of fab shots, but the commentators made it clear that Moutet was playing out of his skin. 6-0, 6-1 when there is no injury involved is vanishingly rare in men's tennis.  I am unfamiliar with Corentin M, never seen him play before.  He does seem to have a reputation though!

I am really looking forward to this evening's match!

JonH, if you are right about Dan being top 100 by the end of the USO, I shall buy you beer.

I think that M Moutet beat Mr Evans in the US Open a few years ago - a match that Mr Evans was expected to win comfortably, as I recall.

Moutet beat Fritz at Queens but Jake beat him next round. Three setter all over this

Dan goes an early break down in the second, he trailes 2-1.  Moutet played an absurdly good return game and broke to luv.  I can't see Dan turning this round

Moutet served for the match, played a rather poor game, Evo rattled him.....and then held really easily and forced a tiebreak

Which Dan had the better of for two-thirds of it - and then a super line ball from Moutet and a little shift, and Dan ended up losing it

But it was a decent show, especially at the back end of the second set - he certainly made Corentin huff and puff

I think your beer money is safe now, Steve!
