Heh bout time Philippoussis didn't get WC for Wimbledon main draw plus I doubt he got one for the qualies since his ranking is within the cut-off. Plus Bloomfield made the cut off by the skin of his teeth since his ranking is 267.

So they announced the WC for qualifying yet?

i think there a good chance that wimby wc's havent been decided yet. i would be suprised if alex didnt get one and hes in the qualie list too, so wc's would move people out of the qlist and bump the others up. hopefully a proper list will appear somewhere else soon, showing the q alts too.

Philippoussis gets wildcards from so many places, he is a true cosmopolitan. Surely it has to stop soon.

I was puzzling why some of the players names were in capitals. Then I realised Count Zero said the list was from tennisteen.it - doh! All the Italian players in capitals then!

Apart from Arvind Parmar [and maybe Martin Lee], I expect all the Brits in that list to get wildcards.

There are 9 qualifying wildcards, who do you think should get them ?

I'm just gonna guess British WC's. Hmm I'm thinking Fleming might get one.. Along with him getting a WC in the main draw of the doubles with Jamie Murray.. But I'm not too sure on others.. Maybe Matthew Smith, James Auckland, Jonathan Marray, Lee Childs and Neil Bamford..

But I'll probably be wrong..

According to Felgate guidelines only Alex and Richard are eligible for automatic wildcards and possibly Jamie Baker who at 19 years is ranked just inside the top 300. (There is an under 20 rule as well but dont know what it is)

Richard SHOULD get an automatic wildcard into Wimbledon main draw. I say should because at 267 he is the only eligible player who qualifies with a ranking inside the 275 target set by David Felgate, but as Felgate has 'disappeared' in the last few weeks who can be sure what will happen, however it would be very unreasonable to come up with new rules so close to the event.

There are other players but they are excluded having already had three wildcards in the past, they are Arvind Parmar (211) and Martin Lee (257), then there is also Alex Bogdanovic but another 'Felgate rule' states that if inside the top 150 an automatic wildcard is given regardless of how many previous wildcards have been received.

Other British players will be eligible to play in the play offs at Raynes Park to win a wildcard for Main Draw or Qualifying.

Remaining wildcards will be allocated by the All England Club for both Main Draw and Qualifying thereafter

Ah right fair enough, but I was thinking about the Qualifying WC's but you probably knew that.

I really hope that Martin Lee gets an automatic wc, I know he's already had 3 but if it wasn't for the knee injury he might have been well entrenched in the top 100 now. He's done so fantastically well in coming back from the low 800s to the top 250 that he deserves a chance at Wimbledon.

Automatic wcs should be given out before the wc playoff in the middle of next week. Assuming that the Felgate rules still apply, then Boggo, Bloomers and Baker [top U20] will get them.

If Martin Lee doesn't get one automatically then the wc playoff will feature: Lee, Parmar, Mackin, Smith, Auckland, Fleming, Sherwood [? - if not still injured], Childs, Bamford, J Murray etc. That's a really strong line-up, it should make for some fantastic tennis - a grass court version of the old National Championships. Parmar and Lee will obviously be big favourites but on their day anyone of the top 6 listed could win it. Does anyone live near Raynes Park and might go to watch ?

As there will be only 3 automatic wcs this year there should be 3 wcs up for grabs at Raynes Park - winner, runner-up and for the winner of the 3rd/4th place playoff.

The qualifying wcs usually go in ranking order [Slabba would get one but he's playing the clay futures instead this year.] Jamie Murray may get one but that's far from certain as he's only ranked in the 800s and Morgan Phillips, Ross Hutchins, Richard Irwin etc are ranked higher.
