She lost 6-4, 6-3. From the sproradic watching I was able to undertake the level looks pretty good

54 points for the losers, 98 points for the winners. Lisseys lowest counter is 21, and Emily's is 27 so an improvement for both regardless

Fran is entered in next week's Palermo WTA125. So there is another chance coming up to break into the top 100. If she does play it would be interesting to know what points she is likely to lose before the tournament and the points she would have to cancel out before adding points.

Looking at the live rankings. Fran is on 727 points after this week and her lowest counter is 15 points from a WTA125 - she has four of 15 points but three are non-counters. She doesn't drop any counters until the USO.
So she will need to reach the QF in Palermo to improve her total.
However there are several players near her in the rankings that can also improve so we will have to wait and see if she can make the move up into the top 100.

A decent shot at neither winning as they have tough QFs - Galfi is playing Yastremska, and Tomova vs Boisson.

There are a couple of people still in this tournament that could overtake her (Begu, Carle) if they do a deep run too.

Galfi and Carle have both lost so that leaves Tomova v the 5th seed and Begu who would need to reach the final to overtake Fran.

If Emily can win this tournament, she will likely be the new GB number 2 (and a CH).

Tomova just lost, but Begu is has reached the SF and will play Christian for a place in the final and the top 100

Begu is the 7th seed and Christian is the 2nd seed.

I think a good chance of Christian winning and Fran hanging onto a place in the Top 100. But all Romanian battles in Romania are always unpredictable.

But wouldn't it be great for Fran to get there, and avoid the Liam situation, and Billy of course.
