Without checking back all the thread, did anyone from here attend at all? Watching a bit today there are just a handful of spectators, with so many Brits playing it seems such a shame :(

I thought about it but I'm in Surrey and it's just too hot to travel too far at the moment.

Was just looking into an all British match earlier in the week, and indeed then there were just a handful of spectators in the 3 relatively big stands that I could see. Pity.

This event doesnt have the publicity the LTA gave the Nottingham Open a few weeks back or, indeed, the other challengers. Its sort of got the sense of a futures without being a futures

Hamish beat Ryan by 3-6 7-6(5) 6-4

I was rather impressed with the the 2 matches I saw Hamish play in Wimbledon Q. Kerching

Indy:  hope you don't  mind, but I've taken the liberty of "tidying up" your post, as I would've done it, if I'd posted the result, which I wasn't expecting (had to go out at one set all), to make it more compact.

Who do folks reckon for these semis? Oli v JPJ and Kyle v Hamish?

No previous head to heads. Tennis Abstract fancies Kyle and Jack, with Kyle to win the final.

Id go Hamish and Oli, in fact, with Oli to take the title. Haha

I'd go Hamish v JPJ! JPJ to win it all :) been great in the grass swing and also would have him overall around 166 points for the grass season nice haul!

I'd agree with that as the final, and also with JPJ to win the title.

With these two's Wimbledon Q and MD wins respectively, and now this week, they are both already heading for big rankings rises and new CHs.

Hamish: his current live ranking of 452 is up 93 places and up 26 places on his existing CH.

Jack: his current live ranking of 210 is up 71 places on what is his existing ranking and CH.

I think we write Oli off at our peril. Hes experienced, underdog probably, but hes as strong as JPJ, Id say. Lets see!

I don't write him off but I think JPJ will beat him. Though it could certainly go the other way.

Oli is good but agreed for me JPJ is just in the better form on grass for sure! Also JPJ has a big ranking for only just being out of collage! But I rate Oli's year highly and I think both can push on! Would have been my final had they been in separate Semis

Wow, thats a great win for Hamish, what a stonking grass season he's having!

I too think JPJ has to be the favourite - much as I love tennisabstract and the elo I do think that not including challenger qualies or ITF results in it really harms the quality of its predictive analysis at this level, though obviously as a voluntary project I'm extremely grateful it exists in the first place...
