Got to nominate both Cam and Sonay even if they both go out at the next stage but will wait until they have played their R16 matches so the write ups can reflect those matches, win or lose. Great Wimbledon for both of them , cementing their recent very good results.

Go for it Danny, you going to get Sonay on there?

just go into post with last list on it, quote it, take out the extraneous text left in and add a third person, Sonay , to the list and a reason .

you probably know that but just in case!

 Sonay added !

Lets hold back on Cam to see if he can go even further !

 Thanks Danny!

1. Oliver Bonding - unseeded he wins the Roehampton J300 pre Wimbledon singles title, with some very good wins and dropping just one set along the way. GB's last winner was Jack PJ in 2021, Joao Fonseca won here in 2023.

2. Oliver Tarvet - for winning his first round match at Wimbledon, his first match on the main tour, and putting up a creditable performance against the WR2 and defendingchampion, Carlos Alcaraz, on his debut on Centre Court.

3. Sonay Kartal-  Fantastic Wimbledon for her , starting with a huge win over seeded Ostapenko, followed by straight sets wins against Tomova and Parry . No disgrace losing to slam finalist Pavluchenkova , in fact Sonay played a good match and had chances but experience told în the end. If she can beef up her second serve a little to make it less vulnerable her progress will be even quicker. And she is up there competing for British number 1 with Emma and Katie.

That nomination for Sonay is her 4th of the season, which makes her top with Julian and Lloyd who also have 4.

 4. Cameron Norrie - Really great to see Cam back in the big time . Following his R16 finish at Roland Garros he went one better at Wimbledon with outstanding performances to beat stand out players Bautista, Tiafoe, Bellucci and an epic 5 set win over Jarry  to reach the last 8. Alcaraz was always likely to be a match too far and so it proved but that does not take away a phenomenal tournament by Cam as the last Brit standing which has to make him a leading contender for POTM !

4 Brits in finals today, 1 Sunday.

Julian/Lloyd, Alfie/Gordon, Oli B and Greg Slade go today; Alfie goes tomorrow in singles.

Go those Brits and, if any of them or anyone else over Wimbledon attracts your attention as a potential PoM, you know the nomination process by now!

I noted above Oli is in the boys doubles final today - he may be in need of a narrative upgrade above if someone would do the honours after his final is over!
