Tegan, Sophia and Edie have all lost

Although Sophia managed to get to a MTB

And Edie posted a decent score against the Q6 seed

(9) Jana Kovackova (CZE) v (WC) Allegra Korpanec Davies
Mia Pohankova (SVK) v (7) Mika Stojsavljevic
Vendula Valdmannova (CZE) v (WC) Daniela Piani
(WC) Brooke Black v Q
(8) Luna Vujovic (SRB) v (WC) Daniella Britton
Thea Frodin (USA) v Mingge Xu

12 players in the draw seems a decent amount - is that more than we normally would have? Good luck to the 6 in action today!

Just slightly more than average - typically 2 DAs 7/8 wildcards and 0/1 qualifier

Hannah and Mika have been showcased on court 12 (3rd and 4th, after Cobolli / Alexandrova).  Flora, Daniela, Daniella and Hollie also play

I thought Hep had a higher ranking, was surprised to see that she needed a qwc.

Hep effectively stopped playing junior tournaments after Wimbledon 2024, so the modest ranking she has is down to reaching round 3 here last year. Like many in the last year of juniors she has been playing Pro tournaments, but hasn't received a main draw wildcard  (unlike for example Jasmine Conway, who had a low junior rank but modest pro rank in 2022 - and ended up reaching the quarters via a main draw WC) though it is possible she opted for qualifying instead for match practice

Hannah takes the first set 6-4 and has an early break in the second

Hannah's match got to 4-4, then she won eight straight games; only lost 5 points in all the second set.

Are the juniors playing "no let"?
