They're all third on. Half the mixed doubles draw played yesterday so will need a rest. It's going to rain. The matches beforehand will last different lengths of time. I don't see an issue.
Though tbf the US Open possibly makes a better job than Wimbledon at allowing people to see a number of Brits after each other. I've noticed them scheduling Brits on the same court in a couple of years.
I haven't investigated to see if they appear to do that quite generally with different nations. Quite a nice touch if they do.

These mixed doubles matches last not much more than an hour or so, therefore no rest needed if you have played the day before. The poor scheduling has nothing to do with a need to rest, they will be practising / warming up anyway. It would have made no difference to the players for the schedule to have been different.

Irrespective of the length of matches, tournaments are more likely to schedule matches first involving players not to have played the previous day. And some of the players are playing doubles and mixed doubles. And there was a danger they might not finish matches due to bad weather.
Don't forget that they've now got scope to move matches onto Centre and No 1 courts over the next few days if they need to catch up. I remember watching quite a lot of mixed doubles matches in the 80's and 90's on cantre court.
L16: Luisa Stefani (BRA) & Joe Salisbury CR 46 (29+17) defeated Asia Muhammed & Andrés Molteni (ARG/USA) CR 32 (10+2) by 7-6(7) 7-6(5)
Meant to say yesterday that Jon's reference to Luisa as "Gwen" was almost on a par with the answer of the actress, Amanda Henderson, when she was asked on Celebrity Mastermind a couple of years ago for the name of a teenage climate activist: she said "Sharon".... Greta promptly & temporarily changed her Twitter (as it was then) ID in "honour" of the clanger.
