Only 5 WC used out of a potential 8. Tara/Billy and Mimi/JPJ are in the alternates list not given one.

Both those missing seem very unfortuante Not sure the LTA have given Tara many breaks since the doping issue arose, you'd have thought they would want to help her. And JPJ and Mimi would be an interesting pair for the public.

I don't think LTA were that fond of Tara before the ban

Some really rowdy morons present at that match.  Couldn't work out their nationality!

Pleased for David (& Maia), but sorry that the win had to come at Jamie's & Em's expense.

Olivia & Henry saved 6 MPs at 4-5* down but not a 7th in a 22 point final game.

bet365 got tired and decided to give them the game for *5-5 at one point but quickly reversed itself.

Did anyone else see the final point? Arends dropped his racket which I think hit the net, and is that why they lost the point/match?

Henry looked a bit below his best today. He faced the serve at deuce in that final game, leaving Liv to receive on the match points.

Does he normally try and receive from both sides? confuse

Yes I was trying to work out why our guys got the match point 9vicman, I think it's because either the racket wasn't in his hand when he made contact, or after he let go (which I'm not sure why really as he was able to make the ball....) it bounced and hit the net post.

The umpire shouted touch which makes me think it was the second, but it quite clearly hit the net post after Eden had made contact and her ball was sailing out.

So I'm not 100% convinced it actually was our Teams point under the rules, as the point wasn't strictly live when the touch happened. Unless it is because her ball hadn't actually bounced and officially landed out?

I couldn't make out exactly what the umpire said before she called the match for Josh & Eden ("touch"?), but that's what I assumed to be the reason.  It looked to me almost as though Sander flung the racket at the ball!

Not sure where Liv normally plays but Henry plays deuce side with Harri, his forehand is his strength. So if Liv normally plays backhand, it would make sense to keep normal sides, even if they didnt do well!

I didn't see but this would be correct, yes.

Yes, that's how it was. My point was Henry lost the points to give the match point, and then Liv was receiving Molteni's serve at match point down. Saving six was pretty good.

Hev and Julian getting smooshed early doors by the Italians. Julian seems to be finding it very difficult to return Errani's serve over the net.

*2-5
