Sonay played such superbly solid tennis

And with winners thrown in, too - almost twice the number that Tomova managed

She basically barely missed

And worked her angles SO well

I echo this, when Sonay changed gear she looked like she was cruising still, i.e. another gear to go to .. she looks easily her ranking with the assurance of a top 20 player .. she looks like a 30-35 player .. with the mental fragilities of the other top brits, what price her reaching brit number 1 .. if only she had a weapon other that calm grit

Katie broken from *40-15 to go 1-4* down. Careless double faults.

Gets one break back.

*2-4

11 double faults and broken again. This is really awful tennis.

2-5*

I've seen a lot of bad sets of tennis from Brits at Wimbledon over the last 30 years. That is up there.

7-6(7) 2-6 *0-0

You too, the thought right out of my head! If Katie doesnt get through and Emma is swatted aside that could make Sonay the last woman standing.

It is so bad I stopped watching and changed to see Jodie and Sonay enjoying themselves.

Good lord, Katie. The space between the Badosa first set and this is startling.

I am speechless with how pathetic this level of performance is. Sierra just has to plop the ball in court - Katie can't even get the most basic balls into court.

0-3*

Typical of Boulter in Slams unfortunately.

She creates / receives a path to the second week of a Slam wide enough to drive a bus through and then produces this abject fayre.

So sad to see that! The commentary saying Sierra is playing the match of her life but Boulter really just handed her it. Worst match I think I've ever seen from a Brit! At least v Dart it got close...
