Weeks 27 & 28 - The Championships, Wimbledon (Womens') (grass) - main draw

As far as I'm concerned, that was pretty one-sided

Sonay played such superbly solid tennis

And with winners thrown in, too - almost twice the number that Tomova managed

She basically barely missed

And worked her angles SO well

What a great game of tennis that was. Sonay just continues to improve and will fancy her chances in rd3. Why not the last 16 this year.

Katie looks pretty tight. Broke but broken back.

She's her usual tight as a drum on the big occasion. Dreadful opening 20 minutes couldn't find the court if there was no net and it was half as big again.

2-4*

Even worse than her performance against Harriet last year so far.

As soon as she gave herself more margin and cut some of the errors out the gulf between them was huge. From *2-5 to a tiebreak and a 5-2* lead, back to *5-4 after a couple of poor points.

A very tight point she just about wins for *6-4 and she double faults...

Katie is on top of the point with desperate hitting but she's too nervous to go for it, and Sierra finds a lovely whipped short angle to win it.

6-6*

Gift from Sierra who goes long with a backhand up the middle, but Katie nets a backhand after a fairly slow paced first serve. Hits the serve properly and it doesn't come back for 8-7*

Ooft. Drags herself over the line after another long and nervous rally. Jeezo.

7-6(7) *0-0

Katie hitting three winners in a 7-6 set on grass? Is that right? Its rough out there right now. Hope she can hustle through

It was a rough watch watch that first set biggrin she gets more luck when she mixes her game up but doesn't do it much. Sierra is very aggressive.

Katie gets broken. Sigh - just making life so difficult for herself unnecessarily. Can't settle at all.

1-2*
