Weeks 27 & 28 - The Championships, Wimbledon (Womens') (grass) - main draw

Emma wins the opener 6-3 but a good set of tennis overall for Mimi. Some good stuff in there (she'd probably have beaten Fernandez ).

Harriet still can't find a first serve and now the rest of her game is unravelling too. If she'd escaped the game at *3-2 I suspect she'd have won this in two, now she's in real trouble. Her second serve is even slower than usual.

6-3 3-6 *0-0

Slower than usual? Impossible! Is she serving in reverse?

Harriet misses 40-15* again and is starting to get very frazzled. She's been really quite poor overall, nowhere near as solid as she was last week in Eastbourne.

*1-1

Emma clearly not 100% here as her first serve is only 102 miles an hour when Ive seen it up as high as 117 miles an hour in the past. It must be her back.

4-4 third set can't say I'm expecting a win here... when it's tight Harriet usually loses.

For anybody not being driven insane enough by my occasional contributions here, I can recommend the "Match chat" button below each match here...

...currently busy trying to find out if AI will tell me if it thinks Harriet is at an advantage if Luke Littler is good at her. (But I'm sure it is capable of coming up with much dafter material if you try some sensible questions).

Well Harriet, other than a few games in the first that was total garbage. Couldn't land a first serve, made far too many errors off the ground which meant even though she created chances in return games she didn't take them. Galfi kept good length, threw in some very nice drop shots, and creamed second serve returns like it was a practice session.

Given she's about to drop to around 180, and how absolutely miserable she's looked on court the last 4 months, I'd actually be pretty astonished if this isn't her last Wimbledon. Even when she scraped herself to 5-4* in the third from a break down, she just looked like she didn't believe she would win. And of course the tears came at 5-6*.

Harriet loses 3-6 6-3 7-5. Bad one.

Glad I missed that one! Very predictable sadly.

I saw a little bit of Hannah's game but she was painfully overmatched, she couldn't deal with Fernandez strength or accuracy. Mingge Xu's first round exit was a lot more positive. She was a proper handful for Emma in patches.

Emma wins, 6-3, 6-3. Big experience for Mimi. A bit overwhelmed at the beginning but she will learn from it. A bit more confidence with the serve and she could have had that. Emma looked very weak TBH. Shaky.

If you watch Harriet play you have to wonder if she gets any joy out of playing. She just looks angry frustrated and at the point of tears throughout. I have to say Im not a big fan but hope shes OK as she seems to be in a bad place.

Emma and Mimis handshake was a bit frosty - I guess they may not know each other too well.
