Weeks 27 & 28 - The Championships, Wimbledon (grass) - main draw

True, but especially with less established players, they would receive a lot of grief too, and have to answer lots of questions if they didn't play.

I seem to recall the Williams sisters both got some flack when they initially cut back their schedules. So not only their bottom line, but also mental health?

According to their speed ratings, Wimbledon played similar speed to last year; it lies behind Queens, Halle and Stuttgart on grass for surface speed. 12 percent above an average surface, whereas Queens is 43 percent above.

Apparently the 2028 Olympics tennis starts straight after Wimbledon, no gap. Will make it interesting.

Also, not clear on format but appears there is a new mixed team event? Instead of mixed doubles? Anyone know the details?

They've stuck with mixed doubles for LA28, but to be played over two days at the start of the week. The event as a whole is a day longer - 10 days.

Ok, so the reports describing express mixed team meant speedy event mixed doubles in English language (team was probably written by an American).
