That is so sad. Dimi was playing so well and deserved
To win that.

That hurt. Thoughts are with him. So cruel. Sinner did speak very well after the event.

It has been a crazy day and little time for tennis today, let alone watch any. I Can see Cam Is struggling, but how is he playing?

Think it is more about how well Carlos is playing. Cam just cant get into the match. Too good.

As well as Carlitos is/was allowing him to.  Different class.  Not a very entertaining match.  I've given up on it & switched to the mixed doubles SF.

Just a different class, Carlos isn't even in 2nd gear. I don't think Cam will like this court any better after today. He's just playing badly, just outclassed.

For the record:

QF:  (2) Carlos Alcaraz (ESP) WR 2 defeated Cameron Norrie WR 61 by 2, 3 & 3

Entirely predictable, I think.  cry  At last Cam's ranking will get a bit of a boost next Monday.

Phew!

L16:  Cameron Norrie WR 61 defeated (Q) Nicolás Jarry (CHI) WR 143 by 6-3 7-6(4) 6-7(7) 6-7(5) 6-3 in four hours & 27 minutes

The Chilean was a tough nut to crack!  Rublev (14) (or Carlitos) in the QF, the Russian currently a set up.

And Carlitos it will be:

QF:  Cameron Norrie WR 61 vs (2) Carlos Alcaraz (ESP) WR 2

So Mr Norrie has to beat 1, 4 & 4, at least, but winning would be nice.

Mmm. 2,3, & 3, so not quite. Well done Mr Tarvet.

Cam is a great pro who is a solid 20-50 player and obviously has occasionally pushed up into the top 10. But the difference between that and a truly elite player was brutally on display today

Folks will remember Tim Van Rijthoven, who got to the 4th round here 3 years ago; sadly, long term injury has forced him to retire. All the best to him
