Nooo JPJ that was there for the taking! First serve went a bit why it sounds like an Italian crowd is beyond me and annoying me so turned over to doubles! Really promising play though from Jack!
L64: Nuno Borges (POR) WR 37 defeated Billy Harris WR 151 by 6-3 6-4 7-6(7)
L64: (2) Carlos Alcaraz (ESP) WR 2 defeated (Q) Oliver Tarvet WR 733 by 1, 4 & 4
L64: (22) Flavio Cobolli (ITA) WR 24 defeated (WC) Jack Pinnington Jones WR 281 by 6-1 7-6(6) 6-2
L64: Luciano Darderi (ITA) WR 59 defeated (WC) Arthur Féry WR 461 by 4, 3 & 3
Some spirited resistance from young Arthur. I thought Wimbledon was maintaining the policy of the ball boys & girls not having to handle the players' towels until I saw Darderi call to one of them to put his in one of the boxes at the start of the third set. At least it was a clean one!
If Mr Evans is playing on for the enjoyment, days like today may make him reconsider. He was in it for a set, and after that he was toyed with. In the third set it looked like Djokovic was letting Mr Evans get to 40 just to make it interesting for himself.
Shame, after the thrills of day 1 - most Brits have now tumbled out. Even though it was bound to happen with them all being underdogs, I was hoping one could pull off a surprise result - especially Fery.
It's a horror show to be honest, any time he gets an advantage in a rally he hits a mid court short for Cilic to smash for a winner. So passive reminding me of Boulter waiting to lose.
