This report sounds odd.  Either he received a code violation and you didn't mention it.  Or he didn't receive a code violation.  Both seem unlikely.  Please explain.

But strange things do happen at Wimbledon Qualies and the umpires may be too reluctant to enforce discipline.

I remember Prakash Amritraj being furious with a female umpire at this event (relevance of gender will be explained -- be patient.)

He thought that one of Michael Yani's shots was out mid-rally.  However, he continued playing.  As a spectator, the issue didn't seem clear to me.

Vijay Amritraj (yes, the famous one), Prakash's father, let out a groan or sigh when there was no out call but I just interpreted that as disappointment rather than

a sincere belief that the call was wrong.

After the point was over, Prakash yelled: "You've got to be ****ting me about that call back there.  Pay attention, sweetheart!"

This definitely needs a warning because it's blatant sexism -- "sweetheart" is demeaning.  But the umpire did nothing, which seems very wrong.

However, google tells me that this match was in 2009 so a lot may have changed.

Wheels seem to have come off for Giles in that second set, lost four games in a row from leading 6-4, 3-2 with the break

I've tried sport plus but that format apparently isn't supported.

Two big holds each way in Oliver's match.

Very nip and tuck now. Atmane has raised his game, Oliver maybe gone slightly off.

4-3*

Were big cheers from Court 1 a few minutes ago. Something evidently happened  biggrin

Appreciating the updates Indy - there's no streams available for any of the courts, apart from Court 1

The cheers were from Paul Jubb winning

Hamish still battling, saved match point to hold for 5-5 second set.

He's been thoroughly under the cosh in this one, hasn't had any chances to break while Vacherot has been pressurising his serve in almost every game. But Hamish has played the big points well - saved 12/13 break points

Lovely solid set of tennis there from Oliver after a couple of slip overs early on.

And less so from Altmane with a load of double faults and other errors. Also he's playing very quickly, twice complaining to the umpire about Oliver not being ready to receive.

Keep it going, young man!

Can you see Atmanes coach, Indy? At Ilkley he had some grey haired American, around mid fifties, in his corner. Near the end the guy said crazy Frenchman to us. he actually gave Atmane good advise as coaching seemed to be allowed, Atmane listened for about two games before melting down again!

That was you! We were stood by you! I heard you say bloody hell and you looked at us and laughed! my daughter and I were stood between you and the coach. watching JoMo and the Jovic match! Haha

a bit before that, just before you arrived, Atmane sat on the covers and had about two minutes of chat from the coach guy at him. The umpire warned him to speed up and Atmane gave him so lip. The coach basically told him JoMo was serving well and he couldnt do anything about it but try and play it into court and then move JoMo around as JoMo is a poor mover, he said. He particularly said to Jonos forehand side. Atmane followed that for a while and it worked but then had that meltdown and lost it!

after that it was all come ones and go type stuff.

anyway, nice to have met you Ms Bloody Hell!

ps no code violations given, he had a verbal telling off for coaching but no warning or violation. Candas report is from Ilkley by The way , not Roehampton. We were both there that day but sadly didnt meet , although it seems we actually did meet without realising it! I was one of the ones who clapped your bloody hell, by the way!

Giles' match feels on a knife-edge in the decider. Both men have had half chances, Giles leading 3-2 on serve

Giles had 0-30 last return game but he's really under pressure on every one of his... think he will be gutted if he doesn't do it though!
