Week 25 - LTA Wimbledon wild card play-offs (pre-qualifying) - women's

From Katy Dunne's blog today.

"A quick one today about Katie Swan. I could not be more proud and more in awe of what this girl has done.

The last two years have been so tough for her. Last year we were sitting in a cafe with a coffee, me having been through surgery, Swanny just wanting to live a normal life free of pain, and both of us saying we just couldnt see a way back. Fast forward 10 months, shes got a title under her belt and we reunite on the grass for a practise. And after two days and six matches won between us, we've confirmed our spots in Wimbledon qualifying at Roehampton next week.

To come through pre-qualifying together yesterday was honestly one of the most special moments. Its rare that you get to share something like this with another player, and for it to be one of your good friends, someone you want to see be where she should be Its a pretty cool feeling!

Congratulations, victors. You are survivors.'

Most of the immediately surrounding roads are residents only so parking will be difficult. I can't actually help you further as I go by train with the long walk up from Barnes station. I'm there Tuesday and Wednesday.

Thanks for flagging. Wasn't aware that Katy had started a blog - unsurprisingly its a frank and endearing read.
