Future Wimbledon ladies winner - you read it here first - Mika Stoj wins 6-2, 6-4.
Not actually a top 100 win, as points from Queen's arent added yet, but her opponent won 2qs and a MD match there, and is WR91 on live rankings.
Zakharova may not yet have been officially top 100 when Mika beat her but going forward it will really be effectively a top 100 win, being recorded as a win in a tournament with the MD starting 16/06 against a player officially top 100 on 16/06 - ie. no-one looking back for her rankings wins in the future will look for any other ranking.
Pity Mika couldn't go on to qualify but a very big ask.
More serve troubles! Such a good game though and plenty of time to sort the serve out... do as previous mentioned wish she had done Qualies not main draw though for more grass time.

Yes, it wasn't so much th DF as the timing of it
At 30-30 it's a bit of a killer
And it afffects you - she'd probably have been more confident on the next point to attack if her serve was leading the way

Yes you have no room for error when your giving a free point each service game... Hopegully the 2nd set she can hold at some point and get that confidence. I still think the organising of these tournaments has been shoddy any unhelpful! As in events held and wildcard allocations.
Yeah it's a weird one. Poots isnt really breaking any sort of sweat, this is very easy for her so far - but I also don't feel like Hannah is a million miles away either. A few bad decisions, some nerves, but she looks fairly comfortable trading.
I said when the draw was made Poots would find and exploit Hannah's weaknesses. That's what is happening here but that's no bad thing - a great education on how far the gap is between being a very good junior and any sort of top level pro. Loads to work on, some that will come naturally with time and experience and physical development, and others where the team can start to look at specific things to improve or bring into Hannah's game.
Not the day she'd have dreamed of so far but hardly a disaster. And she's just got her first hold too.
