Agree with everything that has been said, but fundamentally isnt the grass court season just too short? No wonder we dont see the best players in GB so soon after the French Open. Wouldnt an extra week help along with more room for ITF lower level tournaments?

Maybe
but, tbh, I'm not talking about the best players, they seem to be reasonably well catered for, I'm talking about the more lowly players, to whom the French Open is irrelevant

I think they have to recognise that if they want these guys to take advantage of the grass swing they have to provide the chances! I kind of understand why Broady stayed away now... not enough chances for Ollie I feel really bad he had earnt a spot this week but there aren't any! Black and Panini get 1 game each that there never likely to win? Surely a W35 the 2nd week of the French open? Anyway my thoughts are it's been a bit of a mess all round including some wildcard allocations.
Can anyone explain how they've been able to give out 4 WCs? There is no provision as far as I can see to do that. In a WTA250 there are 2 regular WCs and 2 exemption WCs. If no eligible players request the exemption WCs, 1 can be awarded as a regular WC and 1 reverts to next in.

Panini autocorrect made me chuckle. And made me hungry!

Am assuming that Hannah and Mimi have wild cards instead of Heather and Jodie because of the limit on wild cards. Otherwise I can't see the advantage to the younger players.

Shhh
Maybe because they made a mistake and the next in doesn't realise?
It's like Jodie is playing in slow motion. Looks very average against a player on her first grass court match of the year. All Todoni needs to do is get the ball into the forehand corner with a bit of depth and she's won the point.
6-7(2) *0-0
Still time, but this is really disappointing. Footwork is non existent today.
Watched most of the second set and that was truly awful. Jodie is nowhere near her pre injury level. Not even sure she merits a wild card for Wimbledon in this form.
