Has Lolo Sun switched nationalities again?

She was under the Swiss flag, but now NZ

That was over a year ago, now - back in March 2024, I think

Yes, she does seem remarkably uptight - I don't know whether playing a fellow (and lower ranked) Brit makes it worse?

The am-dram stuff is a little silly, really, though she's hardly the only one to indulge in it - the sort of 'how-could-I-ME-possibly-have-missed-that???? I-make-that-shot-in-my-sleep'

But, yes, she does look rather 'desperate' to play well

Fran (much to my pleasure) is actually higher ranked than Harriet.

Mimi!!

What a result, super stuff. I knew this was in her wheelhouse but to go out there and actually do it is so impressive. Well done!

Some of my favourite Brits winning today, Mimi, Fran, Katie and Sonay. Perfect day in Nottingham. Congrats to Mimi on her first main draw W250 win?

Er, harriet is WR 118 and Fran is WR 132

Those are the official WTA rankings this week biggrin

(you can't use live rankings - those are projected, they depend on the world continuing to spin and lots of other things smile - the actual rankings are the actual rankings)

Sorry. I got that wrong by looking at page 4 of this thread. She had been higher ranked for a few weeks until this week .

Great wins all around! But obviously, most excited about Mimi's win! She must be a lock in for a main-draw wildcard now.

 THat's alright smile

To be honest, everything for Harriet depends on Wimbledon - R3 points to defend is a BIG ask

She might be behind rather a lot of people soon

Yes, the rankings for Harriet and Fran shown on page 4 were those at the time of the draw. Harriet rose 3 places in this weeks rankings and Fran dropped 15 places. And as CD says there are big points to be won or defended at Wimbledon, so there will be further changes.
