Who will get the Wimbledon 2025 Women's Wild Cards

As always at this time of year there is a lot of speculation about who will get the main draw and qualifying wild cards. So, at Deucebags suggestion, here is a competition to guess who will be on the receiving end.

There are eight main draw and nine qualifying cards to be given out and it is pretty obvious who some of the recipients are, but there are a few more contenders than cards available. Your task is to name who you think will get the nod. Only British players are allowed for this competition even if one or two cards my go elsewhere. Entries will close at 10pm on Tuesday 17 June and the final results will be known after the wildcard playoffs later in the week.

Please list your choices stating M or Q for each. Maximum of 8 main draw and 9 qualifying names only.

Here is a list of possible contenders, not necessarily in ranking order, and it includes some names that most certainly wont get a chance (but might be in the playoffs) !

Dart, Watson, Bains, Jones, Christie, Burrage, Banks, Xu, Klugman, Stojsavljevic, McDonald, Rajecki, Appleton, Swan, Dunne, Stoiber, Piani, Black, Gillan, Blake, Oluwadare, Adeshina, Hutchinson,Moore, Wilson, Silva, Allen, Maloney, Barnes, John-Baptiste

If you want to follow the dicussion go to the Womens section where there is a thread about this topic

Who will get the Wimbledon 2025 Wild Cards

Would probably change the title to add women unless men are here too?

Good point - I've changed it. Someone else can do the men's if they want to.

Here is what I think the wildcards SHOULD be. i very much don't expect it to be correct!

MDWC
Dart, Watson, Jones, Burrage, Banks, Miyasaki (additional cards to Boisson and Kvitova)

QWC
Bains, McDonald, Rajecki, Appleton, Stoiber, Xu, Klugman plus Gillan and Dunne via playoffs.

My belief is that younger players are much better off being placed in qualis rather than being pitched into the main draw. Qualis would be much better practice for them and, should they then qualify, they would then be so much more confident of their abilities. Juniors are already given a surfeit of wild cards. MDWC's should go to players who have earned them through their performances during the season.

Its a great idea, seriously - but I genuinely have no idea as who gets wildcards seldom bothers me - it is what it is- and I have less than zero percent knowledge of the relative merits of our women players! So anything I put up here would be a random list!

but Ill follow it for sure!

Yes, you've read the discussion thread and asked a lot of questions - you know more than you think you do.

Heres my guess guys.

MDWCs
Dart, Jones, Watson, Burrage, Banks, Xu , Boisson , Kvitova

QDWCs
Mayazaki, klugmann,Appleton,McDonald, Rajecki, Stobier, Stojsavljevic, Gillan, Baines

Really hard to split the 3 young guns and weirdly enough, I have gone for the one who has probably achieved less than the other two but these arent necessarily what I would do, but what I think will actually happen.

MD: Dart, Watson, Jones, Burrage, Xu, Klugman, Stojsavljevic, Miyazaki ( although I actually think Kvitova will get one and Boisson should, but won't )

Q: Miyazaki, Banks, Appleton, McDonald, Rajecki, Stoiber, Bains, Black, Piani
