SF:  Jiri Lehecka (CZE) WR 30 defeated (2) Jack Draper WR 6 by 6-4 4-6 7-5  cry

Jack outplayed by the Czech - Czech-mated, you almost say.  no  Disappointing.

As the commentary put it Jack's first serve 'wandered away' in his last two service games.

Never mind, Jack, keep a little in the tank for Wimbledon.

You could see how hard they were both striking the ball in that third set. But the power from Lehecka. He just didn't look like losing.
But Jack has done enough for #4 seed at Wimbledon. He'll be back. The hurt at losing today will be his incentive for SW19.

Jack had apparently been feeling unwell for a few days, but says that he "wouldn't have pulled out for anything".  At least he now has a few days more to shake off the tonsillitis before Wimbledon.

I really have to moan here and get this off my chest. I am sat enjoying watching the men's final. But please can somebody tell me why we still have to have the likes of John Lloyd and Andrew Castle doing the commentary. You can watch Sky tennis and they have such a good array of commentators. Castle just talks non stop even in the middle of some of the rallies. He talks such rubbish and has to keep telling you the same thing, what you are watching, like you are a child. Infuriating and shame on the BBC when there are younger, better commentators they could be using. There rant over. *breathe*

I don't think you'll hear anyone on this forum disagreeing with you, Rich!

It would be good to hear Andrew Cotter more. He is a bit of a Jack of all Trades but has long ago mastered the art of tennis commentary more than Castle and Lloyd have ever done.
