Eden and partner looking decent this week. Are they due to play next week at Nottingham?

I am not sure I like the way Wimbledon favours all Brit pairings when one of the Brits has a perfectly strong pairing with a non Brit, but this would be a case in point, if they chose to look for a Wimbledon doubles wild card.

I think we'll need to wait for the doubles entry list to be published next Wednesday before starting to speculate on who will get wildcards. The initial cut-off at RG was a combined ranking of 146 which would mean Harriet and Maia would scrape in to join Liv/Tereza and Katie/Emma. Anyone else would need a wildcard, and I would have thought those pairs already playing are probably fixed by now, including Eden+ and Lissey+

I think it unlikely a Russian would get a Wimbly wild card personally...

They don't have a good enough CR to get a WC. LTA will only nominate teams with a CR of 250 or better or juniors or college players for a Wimby doubles WC.

Some great performances from the 17 year-old smile

I don't think Silva and Diatchenko will have entered Wimbledon together. The Russian was only playing her second event of the year, and presumably using a protected ranking.

More generally, while the LTA/Wimbledon generally favour all-Brit pairings, I do think it ridiculous that Stevenson and Willis get a Queen's wild card in their first event back together, leaving Johnson and Groen to play qualifying.

And Jovic wins easily !!!

That's a main draw wildcard for the 17 year-old, IMO

She's young, good on grass (she did well in juniors last year too), very marketable, definitely up and coming, an easy wildcard, I think

An interesting stat: Jovic has received a wild card into the last three Slams and reached the second round on all three occasions. Am not saying she hasn't deserved it, but is fortunate to be from a country which receives wild cards, either as a host or through a reciprocal arrangement.

Do we think any player has ever received a wild card into four successive Slams?

From her interview afterward she did seem to expect one.
