Doubles

L16:- Lyudmyla Kitchenok (UKR) / Erin Routliffe (NZL) CR14 (11+3) [1] v Jodie Burrage (GBR) / Sonay Kartal (GBR) UNR (240+UNR) [WC]
L16:- Xinyu Jiang (CHN) / Fang-Hsien Wu (TPE) CR58 (28+30) v Katie Boulter (GBR) / Emma Raducanu (GBR) UNR (450+UNR)

L16:- Tereza Mihalikova (SVK) / Olivia Nicholls (GBR) CR66 (34+32) v Ellen Perez (AUS) / Shuai Zhang (CHN) CR27 (15+12) [3]

$7,970 per team for making the draw, $13k and 108 points for a first round win. Liv and Tereza need to reach the semifinal to cover their 163 drop from Hertogenbosch last year (but both have 108 point non-counters)

Im going for the first time on Monday (first ever event in fact for me)

Any hints and tips appreciated :)

Well I've never been to Queens sadly, so no specific tips,  but have been to  quite a few  tournies   big and small.  Looks like weather going to be good for you.   I think Queens is quite smart but  be comfortable - take hat and shades (though you might jinx the sun). Bag or small rucksack with your life essentials, your own food and drink unless you want to queue  and pay  high prices.  There will be a bag check at entrance though I expect.  I don't think it will be as crowded as the mens' event which by all accounts is rammed.  Sorry can't be more help, but am envious to tell the truth.  This year will only be Nottingham for me which has it's own charms and quirks.......... Oh and of course watching live is  just such a great experience.

Alycia Parks (Q1) lost again, continuing her poor recent form.Beat Muchova at RG but otherwise lost every match bar one since Miami.

Think anyone can beat Muchova at the moment. Protecting a wrist injury that might need surgery and hitting her backhand as a single handed shot. So tough for her

The draw took place on the London Eye - have a look at the new trophy

It was a nice touch to put the winners of the old women's tournament on the new trophy.

Katie and Emma pair up in doubles, as do Jodie and Sonay

Surprised as I thought Katie and Jodie would pair up

Has Emma ever played doubles before at pro level?

The ITF shows a loss in R1 of a WTA250 in 2022 - that's it !
Looks like another powerplay pairing

They would not have got 2 pairs in that way as there was only one WC. Emma & Katie made it in on ranking which any other combination I don't think would have.

What odds are the bookies giving on a withdrawal for this pair, rather than a defeat?

The LTA (and hence the WTA) are well behind with showing the order of play today. Heather isn't showing on the OOP but has just taken the first set 6-1

I should add that the printable OOP from the LTA is fine.

The TNNS app has the schedule nice and clear as usual.

Yes, the WTA in particular has been awful

This is the good OoP, if anyone needs it

www.lta.org.uk/49c7ac/siteassets/events/hsbc/media/order-of-play---sunday-8-june-2025.pdf

Heather has been playing very nicely, neatly, good drop shots

Alice lost set one 6-1, but it started off not too badly, and she's now 3-3 in the second

Alice lost 6-1 6-3 but a good experience.

Heather has had points for *3-0 and *4-1 in the second. Now 4-4* after wasting three game points. Sigh. Like last week, has had every opportunity to finish this one off.
