Big week and big win there for JoMo.

I reckon Wimbledon MDs WCs will be going to Jay, Jan and Dan. JoMo putting his hand up for the next one.

 Not sure about  Jan

He chose to play on clay last week,  didn't he?

And again this week?

I would not give him one if he's basically decided not to bother with grass

OK....fair point...I remember seeing him at Queens last year so I guess he does show up finally

But I still think it's dodgy grounds

Oliver Crawford is 4-2 up against Brandon Holt, first set. He has quite a swagger to his game, plays explosively and moves round court well, frequently coming to the net. Its a good watch

Hadn't appreciated that Billy has another chance to crack Top 100 this week.

Enjoyed watching Billy, but the result was never in doubt. Too much grass court nouse and Gojo had very little grass court nouse, to be honest. Billy has a lovely shot where he plays a squash style chopped forehand that gets him out of trouble a lot. He is a big lad, and had too much power and consistency without really ever being threatened.

Comfortable result and enjoyed watching him in the flesh

Best match of the day for me, really good tennis and Paul played so well. In essence, it was Cilic power that won it for him, Paul matched him in all other aspects and looked a good player on grass.

Crowd got well into this and it was top notch tennis.

Cilic has a very weird thing with his service prep. He bounces the ball around 12 times, takes a big long stop, bounces it twice more (always twice more) and then serves. It seems to add nothing and in fact he serves moving slightly backwards, must lose power in doing so.

Jubbys game is nice and skillful, just feels underpowered at this level, being honest, and hard to see him breaking the top 100 easily unless he can find some more horsepower

She really enjoyed it, liked watching the match between Jubby and Cilic, and we also watched JoMo beating Atmane, whilst between that court and a match between Jovic and Masarova, which she really enjoyed.

Good day out for us both, bit of bonding going on!

JoMo - he hits a big ball, he is a big hunk of a guy and serves from a height (not sure what he is, but he is tall). He just outgunned Atmane. We stood near Atmane's coach - some real coaching going on there -and he basically said JoMo is serving great, hits a big ball and clean but movement is suspect, you got to make him move. Atmane listened for a few games and he was right - but Atmane melted down, smashing a racket on the rain covers and swearing wildly whilst JoMo calmly polished him off.

JoMo is too big to move well, but he plays a good game and had some lovely touch as well; hope he gets into Wimbly qualies and does some damage

Holt was more consistent second set and takes it on a tie break

Thanks for the reports, Jon, and great that you and your daughter had such a good day.

Most folk commenting on Wimbledon WCs seem to have JoMo down for a MD WC. I think this week is probably sealing the deal.

Sounds great

I know Atmane well - and he certainly is a fiery character - I rather like him for it - it's pretty spectacular tennis at times - and when the tennis isn't spectacular, the oncourt antics certainly are

Glad your daughter (Hope? Faith?) got to see Iva Jovic too - she's only 17 (Iva, that is), an attractive player, and girls your daugher's age often like to see the youngsters

Great bonding !
