Jack PJ starts the match well, 6-1 opening set.

Good start to the grass if he sees this through - one to watch as the grass season progresses?

Struggling 2nd set his opponent had a MTO first set. One to watch though you could never have seen Broom getting a WC last year so always a shot if you play well and win some matches.

Some of our men just don't seem to be on it, pressure of knowing there are WCs for Wimbledon up for grabs? Not many nailed on a wildcard with a lot of players between 200-400 in the rankings...

FQR:  (q9) Yasutaka Uchiyama (JPN) WR 204 defeated Jack Pinnington Jones WR 339 by 1-6 6-4 7-6(2)  hmm

Jack battled hard & dug himself out of quite a few holes, especially in the final set, but ultimately couldn't quite get over the line.  cry

He also sadly missed a lot of chances! Good effort, but right now not seen any of the Men who warrant a MDWC long way to go but 9 so far down who will need a lot more.

I believe JPJ may have finished college now, so it could be the start of full time pro on tour.
If so, I suspect he may well get MDWCs

 Probably and he did better than most this week just needs a few more wins in my opinion but there's time.
