Very hard to choose this month - lots of good performances but no-one who particularly stands out above everyone else. In the end I voted for Jay. He's played virtually every week since February to get his ranking back up and that hard work has paid off, culminating in winning the Challenger in Skopje last week and getting back into the top 200 at GB No 5.
If we do end with a tie, Ill post it tonight and run it through 24 hours. It could be late though as Im about to settle down and watch the last episode of the Residence on Netflix; Ill check the results but wont be posting a new poll til later! And a late start means a late finish tomorrow ( as the timer minimum is 1 day)
But lets hope some voters appear in the next 50 mins and avoid a tie for us!
I might not actually be here at 10:08pm ! So if Im not and the clock ticks to 10:08, it would be great if someone else is able to announce the final score please!
So Ill just do it - 34 votes and the vote is closed, and Jay Clarke is our May 2025 Player of the Month.
Well done to Jay, hope its the start of more things to come. Jay qualifies for Player of the Season and so to does Anna McBride who finished second, many congrats to Anna (and to Annas dad - sorry Anna couldnt keep the lead but second is great and player of the season qualification is something i dont think youd have expected!?)
Thanks all - shame we aint getting the voting numbers we used to get but its still fun, i think at least.

Thanks, I expected Jay would get a last-minute vote. However, finishing second, ahead of some great players, is something that was not expected.
Just for info, I rather like the nominating, probably more than the voting (although I always vote !)
It's that adrenalin-rush (I know, sad life ) of when a player does something really good and that then gets 'crystallised' or validated or whatever, by nominating them for PoM

Thanks Tanaquui, Indy and CD
I agree with all - through this process I learnt about so many players I wouldn't follow normally, particularly players in juniors, or ITF events, I would say wheelchair and para but I tend to read those more closely. Definitely college.
It does sort of help provide a rhythm to the month and a fresh start for the next, seems to avoid the whole tour being a feeling of a treadmill to me. You end, get up and go again.
CD - I agree re the nominations, definitely the process of thinking about the nominations and deciding to take the plunge is a bit of a rush; I am as sad as you are.
