Its the week before Roland Garros, which as usual means the Astrid Bowl is the main junior focus. Mark Ceban is in a tricky situation, as should he progress over the next 3 days he will only be eligible for a Special Exempt if players ahead of him on the RG qualifying list lose. Allegra Korpanec Davies is in a clearer position, as she is only one out of the French Open, so if she reaches the semis as seeded, she would get a Special Exempt (she would also make it of course with one more withdrawal).
Live scores are available here and there may be a live stream from court 1 via a link from the host website, though in previous years the quality of the stream has been mediocre.
Allegra was on the streamed court 1 and I caught the last few points as she battled back from a break down in the decider to break again as the Belgian double-faulted on matchpoint
The other seed in Allegra's quarter went out. Next up for her though is American Kori Montoya. Allegra+ are seeded 3 in doubles. Mark is playing with a Spaniard, who is also down for Roland Garros qualifying, so I imagine they will pull out if participation there is threatened.
The situation is clear for Mark, as he lost his round 1 doubles today, so will be en route to Paris for qualifying. If Allegra wins tomorrow she will get a Special Exempt, assuming no-one else has withdrawn to let her in by right. The complication is that there are still a couple of other players in the quarter-finals who are eligible for Special Exempts, so she may need to avoid the scenario of losing in singles but still being in the doubles (they are scheduled to play their round 1 this evening)
