Won 1st set 7-5, despite MTO.

Emma not quite firing on all cylinders, broken in second set to go 3-1 down. If she's going to come through this it's not going to be a smooth ride.

Momentum all the wrong way right now.

Is Mark Petchey not there today?

But wait...from 5-1 down she's serving to level the set again after 2 breaks of serve.

Don't think so, probably commentating. Jane O'Donaghue is there and someone I don't recognise.

Oh Emma. Wastes 4 points to level the match at 5-5 (and been heavy favourite to close it out) and now it's going three.

Would have been better to just lose the set 1-6 probably. All that wasted energy...

I agree, yeah, it feels like she had done all the hard work then faltered when it came to getting over the line.

Now you fancy her less for the 3rd set than if she had saved the energy, but let's hope she still has enough.

Seems to have bounced back and gone 3 games up third set. The ups and downs of tennis. Its all in the head.  At any level, for all players.

Great news that Emily App is into the doubles draw following a second withdrawal this morning.

Not sure where she is in the draw relative to our girls, Emma Navarro lost and only won 1 game - 9th seed. Although not sure she was anyones expected tournie winner.

Where's Fran on the possible LL list? Two last minute withdrawals, and Muchova / Vondrousova are still in... but always doubts to play.

 R1:- Emily Appleton (GBR) / Yvonne Cavalle-Reimers (ESP) CR166 (86+80) v Alexandra Eala (PHI) / Renata Zarazua (MEX) CR319 (225+94)

Would have been a potential opponent for Katie in the fourth round.
