Boulter gets Carole Monnet who was a wild card into qualifying and won through.
Well, Katie will get a good crowd and a lot of noise, especially if Carole has a bit of a chance
Carole is a very likeable natural young woman, with a bit of the underdog story going on, which people like
She's had huge noise in the stands for her matches - especially today which she had in hand, and then had a nervous moment in the second as Friedsam came back at her
A pretty clay court style of play - very dynamic and athletic
First dropout through injury is Belinda Bencic. She was in Emma's section of the draw. This section of the draw also includes Rybakina ,Ostapenko,Kostyuk, with Emma and Swiatek.
Big improvement for Joanna this year, lovely to see. If only she'd switch! ;)
Not a chance. In a documentary on her on YouTube earlier this year, she was talking of being very proud of her Taiwanese heritage and having ambitions post playing to work with the kids over there and grow tennis in Taiwan. One of her goals is to represent Taiwan at the Olympics.
