Osaka gets some duff drawers, especially in Paris. Keys is the seed set to face Katie in round 2 if she can come through the qualifier (could be Fran??) Good draw for Emma and Sonay

Honestly that's a very good draw for Sonay against an opponent not playing well (and whom Katie Boulter beat on clay). Likewise Wang Xinyu is a good player, but has been struggling of late, and gives Raducanu the pace she likes.
R1: Jodie Burrage (GBR) WR169 v Danielle Collins (USA) WR46
R1: Emma Raducanu (GBR) WR43 v Xinyu Wang ( CHN) WR42 They met in Linz in 2021 with Xinyu winning in three.
R1: Katie Boulter (GBR) WR38 v Qualifier
R1: Sonay Kartal (GBR) WR53 v Erika Andreeva (***) WR101 They met in Wimbledon in 2024 with Sonay winning 3 & 1.

A bit of a mix really. Obviously until we see who Katie gets it is hard to tell though I think her recent win in Paris will have helped her form and confidence and I don't see many of the qualifiers as much of a threat. However, likely to play Keys in round 2 who is pretty good on clay and I'd be surprised if Katie can beat her.
Jodie has a very tough draw. hard to see a win but the match could be a festival of errors as both are capable of spraying the ball all over the place. If Collins is on it though I don't think Jodie has much of a chance.
Emma might win but there must be concerns now regarding her back. if she is fit there is bound to be a bit of doubt in her mind, given her injury history, and that could affect her play. I'd say this match is 50/50. As I can't see Smrakova beating Swiatek I think Emma's Paris ends in round 1 or 2.
Sonay has the best draw and I think she will win that match fairly easily. In the 2nd round she could face either Bouzkova or Kalinskaya. However, there must be doubts as to whether they will both be fit to play. I'm going to bold and say Sonay bows out to Gough in round 3.
In fact there must be quite a few doubts. All the following have withdrawn from recent tournaments and have fitness/injury issues.
Badosa (chronic back woes could flare up at any time)
Badosa v Osaka and Bencic v Rybakina probably the stand out first round matches
Depends on whether Badosa's back hold up and whether Bencic is fit and healthy. Not sure she isn't carrying an injury. But yes agree the stand out matches.
I'm intrigued by Tauson v Linette
Tomljanovic v Joint Australia's past v Australia's future
Mentioning Vondrousova it is only 2 years ago that she played Jabeur in the Wimbledon final and now neither is seeded. If they both win their first round matches they would meet in the 2nd round. How times change due to injuries.
