Yes !
David will know that I really rate Ida - born September 2010, so still 14
(She's nowhere near the level of the Penickova twins at the moment, who are a year older, but I think/hope she will be better in the long term)
However, Alice is one of my long-time soft spots so I'm really hoping Alice can win, and leave young Ida to savour her moment another day

Ranah won !!!
Saw some on livestream - nice play
Allez, Ranah - keep going - the potential is there
Jinxed
However there is an MTO here now.

I think it's raining, not an MTO
I turned on the livestream at the start of the second set and, yes, Ida started hitting winners
So maybe the weather came at a good time :)
They are back on and Alice has levelled at 4-4 in the second. For anyone wanting to know more about Ida the leading German tennis magazine had a nice article about her last month (in German)

Yes - well done to her support mates - they certainly made themselves heard
QF:- Alice Gillan (GBR) WR532 def Ida Wobker (GER) UNR/14yo/JR102 [JR] 6-0 5-7 6-3 ***** SF:- Alice Gillan (GBR) WR532 v Marie Weckerle (LUX) WR619 Marie played at Nottingham - reached L16 in both tournaments - so they probably know each other's game, and Alice beat her 4 & 4 in Manacor in March
S:- Ranah Stoiber (GBR) WR536 [6] v Adithya Karunaratne (HKG) UNR/1626 (CH=278 in 2023) [Q] (was out for 11 months up until early March)
