Weeks 22 & 23 - French Open (Roland-Garros) - Paris, France (clay) - DOUBLES

Cracking match.

That 'round the post' shot from Zeballos on break point down could well have been the difference between winning and losing.

Really excellent achievement.

And got closer than I thought they would in the final. They were the better team for most of the third set, broke in the first game, had 15-40 at 3-3 (had a point that will haunt them).

Surprising first Slam title for Granollers / Zeballos (even individually). They were always the favourites on clay though.

If Joe and Neal were going to lose anyone, am happy it was to Granollers and Zeballos. Granollers had lost all five previous Slam finals (two with Marc Lopez and three with Zeballos). They've been playing together since 2019 and have been so consistent.

Agreed. And Wimbledon is set up so well, with several pairs ( A and P, H and H, G and Z, C and G, S and S, K and P, maybe H and K, E and P) who could win it. Fascinating times in mens doubles
