Weeks 22 & 23 - French Open (Roland-Garros) - Paris, France (clay) - DOUBLES

As reported by Jon on the men's main draw thread, the provisional doubles entries are now available on the Darts site, with Brit interest as follows (current rankings):

- (2) Harri Heliövaara (FIN) & Henry Patten CR 7 (3+4);

- (7) Julian Cash & Lloyd Glasspool CR 29 (15+14);

- (10) Joe Salisbury & Neal Skupski CR 31 (24+17);

- (12) Jamie Murray & Rajeev Ram (USA) CR 51 (26+25);

- Sander Arends (NED) & Luke Johnson CR 82 (40+42)

- Gabriel Diallo (CAN) & Jacob Fearnley CR 1947 (1283+664) (*)

(*) singles rankings 54 & 57 respectively

Marcus Willis, in tandem with Patrik Trhac (USA) (CR 202 (108+94)), & David Stevenson, alongside Cleeve Harper (CAN) (CR 209 (112+97)), are lurking among the alternates (11th & 13th respectively).  Good to see, especially for David, for whom I believe it would be a novel experience.

Also:

Young Moise Kouamé (born 2009) has a maindraw wildcard for doubles (LTA/AELTC, take note - what about Mark Ceban?)

And Nico Mahut is also dusting off his tennis shoes and still going, at age 43

Yes, the return of Mahut and Herbert, who somehow is still only 34. At their best, they were a great pair to watch.

And Monsieur Kouame, who sensibly was given a wild card into qualifying only, and acquitted himself quite well. A main draw doubles will card, well why not, they had seven to dole out. But he should be looking to improve on last year's junior result as his main goal.

Jake and Diallo is going to be really interesting to watch and could really test Harri and Henry if they meet.

Looking at the draw for the first time, not sure I like Henry and Harri prospects. Jake and Diallo will be hard; Doumbia and Reboul in the last 16. A few rocks along that route, thats for sure .

Jake and Diallo won't be close to Henry & Harri if they even meet.

 Do you not think they would be a tough challenge? Could be second round - I wouldnt dismiss Jake and Diallo at all. Sure, Henry and Harri should win if they meet, but I think theyd be a tough proposition.

Doumbia and Reboul are definitely a potential bad draw for last 16 though.

 Seriously you may be right to take them as a pair who wont challenge H and H, but they are two strong singles players, Diallo has one of the biggest serves in the game and Jake has strong groundies; H and H should win , Id they play, but I would not dismiss them.

Well done to Julian and Lloyd, after losing the opening set, they came back well.

Neal and Joe won the first set comfortably as well.

Its very early in the event but , as it stands, Lloyd is live ranked 8 now. Neal is now 13.

A lot could change over the next two weeks, but its something!
