I was about to say, given how loaded the Bordeaux field is, a 40 year old Stan maybe isn't the worst round 1 draw for Billy....

But then saw that he recently made the final of Aix-en-Provence...astonishing stuff from Stan the Man

I've just watched 15 mins of Dan's first set. He looked asssured, though I'm not sure how much can be learnt when there is such a gulf in ranking.

Dan is defending 25 points here, his 4th best points haul of the last year.

Zapata is no slouch on the dirt - beat a young Alcaraz back in 2020, and also beat Dan (back when he was seeded in Masters events) in Madrid two years ago

 Yes, and he's beaten Taylor Fritz  too .. it's surprising that good wins have happened sporadically for him and have never been enough to revolutionize his game
