Main draw is out and no sign of Sonay or Harriet?

I'm disappointed Sonay isn't here.  She was my pick for the most grass court wins as I was confident she'd get a reasonable run of wins here!  She was definitely on the LTA's entry list last week.

As I can't see mention of this match anywhere.

FQR: Tereza Martincova (CZE) WR540 defeated Ella Mcdonald (GBR) WR352 by 6-1 6-1

WTA streaming Mimis match. 3-1 up against Alicia number 1 seed. A chance here, depends how long it takes Parks to get used to the grass. Mimi may have been quiet on socials but wow she has worked on that serve! Maybe worth a watch. Dont expect her to win, but looking good so far!

But of a wobble at 4-1 *40-0 to get broken but breaks straight back. Parks having one of her rather messy outings so far but Mimi is playing really well.

*5-2

Super first set against a highly erratic Parks :)

6-2

Marni never seems to play quite as well as I think she should be. This should be a much fiercer contest against the fairly unexciting and not scary Italian.

These two first sets have gone the opposite than I expected! Marni I had high hopes for... Grass season showing I don't know much about our players haha

Disappointing performance from Marni to lose 6-2 6-4. Never looked a serious threat. Might get an opportunity next week to do better but the sort of performance against a top 200 player I'd say makes her a non-starter for consideration for MDWC - she might win a qualies round on a good day but I can't see her being competitive in the main draw.

Parks a bit like a wounded animal. Finally plays some more consistently good tennis when she's nearly beaten.

Mimi can't get over the line and is broken for 5-5*

Great news! Wins like these get you closer to a MDWC :)

Stunning from Mimi. Made a couple of slightly iffy decisions under pressure to go down *3-6 combined with better play from Parks, but served well to 5-6* then won a tremendous rally to level at 6-6*.

Seals the win with another well constructed aggressive point than sends Parks the wrong way.

Yes!

Wow! I cant believe she did that after losing that lead in the second set. What a win, and the ranking points! Should have justified her WC entry to main draw for Wimbledon with that. Takes some nerve to knock out the number one seed. Well done!
